The hatch budged about 3cm and then stopped moving. It seemed to be sticking as if it hadn't been opened in a very long time. He could see what appeared to be the surface of the landing pad about 2 meters below him.

OOC: I'm assuming Phadin is opening the hatch gently and not using brute force.

Phadin grinned. It appeared he'd be joining the others on the Hope earlier than he'd thought. Taking the opportunity Phadin pushed harder on the hatch hoping to open it.

The hatch gave way with a loud squeal and Phadin could see the landing pad below.

Phadin quickly dropped to the landing pad below and scanned the area for the Eternal Hope. Once spotted Phadin rushed towards it.

Phadin had only taken a few steps when he heard the guard on the ramp of the Barnacle shout, "Halt!" as he drew his blaster.

As Phadin sprinted for the Hope the guard who had shouted at him swung to fire. Phadin didn't bother to try to stop hoping that speed would cause the guard to miss. Suddenly Phadin saw the man stagger at the same instant as he heard a blaster report coming from the direction of the Hope. The guard went to his knees. If Phadin could have seen the man's back he would have seen that his armor was shattered and a large portion of his skin was burned.

Once he was out from under the Barnacle Phadin could see that the ramp was down on the Hope. He could also see another guard approaching across the landing pad. As the man's blaster hand came up another shot rang out from under the Hope, and a shot came from behind him as well, the guard's shoulder armor exploded and he fell motionless on the ground.

OOC: Ok the guard under the Barnacle is wounded but still able to act at -1D. The other guard is unconcious and badly hurt. Go ahead and post your next action in the thread with the others as they can see you now.
